Item 2: Resource prov update
SBooth: Happy with res on HPCx on SC07 PVC: Possible access to HECToR for SC07
PVC: Access to PSC resource at SC07 SM: trying to debug some things re interactive Hemelb access SB: Should be no problem getting reservations - just let him know
Item 3:
PVC: MPIg - can run MPIg on LONI with HARC, success at SDSC. Still got problem with NGS.
MF: LONI doesn't use vendor MPI, just uses Globus sockets. JM: Yes MF: are any sites using vendor MPI? Believed it is working without vendor MPI
BF: three ways to build MPIg - regular, debug, and disable-fast. Will bring error messages back in.
MF: Have been working hard to make work with vendor MPI. Is this needed?
BT: On TG are using vendor MPI. Using with minimal problems.
JM: LONII installation does not use vendor MPI. No chance to look at till after SC. All tests on LONI are non vendor MPI.
MF: abandoned efforts to integrate with ... Have build with pre-WS GRAM. Jobs don't run cleanly and lots of core dumps. Can we just use sockets stuff without vendor MPI? If other people are using it?
JM: Will run ok on LONI due to optical network.
BT: Which version of MPIg are you using?
MF: latest from website.
BT: Try the new version. Expecting to release another one today. Shouldn't be shutdown issues with version on web now.
MF: are there any more versions?
BT: New version on website
BT: Test program for MPICH-G2 which can be used to test.
JM: Problem with running MPI-g with WS GRAM.
BT: Possible due to optimised version of MPIg
SDSC and NCSA can provide logins if people need to check things.
BT: Problem with globus rendezvous service is likely
JM: Hard to find out problem.
JM: Is there any way we can get more expertise from the mailing list.
BT: GT user mailing list can help
OK: Graphs of performance using LAMMPS/MPIg show very good performance
Item 4:
SY: Oxford have put in uklight path, got it all working, between Ox and Manchester
PVC: Now, want to get MPIg to run cross site.
SM: were discussions on other lightpaths we wanted
Got UL-TG and UCL-MAN up and working
AR: Have made progress. No problem with SC reservations, do we want to use HARC or let them make the res?
PVC: Will get back on that.
AR: We're in good shape - happy with situation
JL: Has borrowed a fibre. If we can get a signal, should be able to get in to Leeds. Maybe not in time for SC
Item 5:
SM: Ensuring all resources have ReG/HemeLB etc deployed and ready. Status in wiki.
Working on PSC
SM: Doing some live steering with MPIg on all three machines, and getting viz on to desktop. Working on resolving some issues.
RH: Got testing to do which will continue with

SM: SPRUCE - testing on TACC. Got one issue for them to iron out. Successfully running HemeLB on lonestar. 2 demos organised for TACC
SM: Timetable of demos are shown on wiki
Item 7:
SM: Will make all HARC reservations for demo, and in cases where HARC not available will get in touch with admins.
SM: If anyone has requests or suggestions for demo?
SM: Will make reservations tomorrow.
PVC: Will put slides on wiki. if anyone wants to comment, please do.
