Item 2. Resource Providers - no updates

Item 3.

HARC:

JM: Nothing to update. Co allocation still working fine at sites it was before. Some progress on getting installed at Mr Rogers at PSC

SY: Split in reservations- HARC targets nodes with public IPs. problems if reservation bigger than non-public IP nodes.

JM: Aware we need to extend the compute resource spec, so users can express additional requirements such as public IPs.

JL: Message from Kashif saying it's now working (for 4 proc).

OK: Success with NCSA and SDSC cross site runs.

MF: Manchester and Leeds ok with requirements.

NCSA & SDSC: problems getting hemelb to run with MPICH-G2 with GUR (will get in touch with SM).

MF: Manc, Leeds and Ox able to launch MPIg jobs locally. Can't launch jobs remotely or do cross site jobs.

SY: Thanks to BT for advice.

MF: UK light link up and running between Manc and Ox.

SM: If progress with NGS will test some stuff out prior to demos on Tuesday

MF: Could someone test local site MPIg test with code.

PVC: OK would relish the opportunity to test.

SZ: Progress getting WS GRAM to work.

JM: Back working on it. Followed advice, but not sorted yet. Have compiled different debug versions. MPIg info not set by WS GRAM.

Doru: Can we send details of LONI problems to him, might be able to help, or put in touch with GT developers.

Item 4. Lightpaths

SY: yet to test link, but is up and live.

PVC: We can help test.

DS: AFAIK all important links are in place. Planning to shuffle equipment to that 300Mb to 1Gb link is able to be put in place.

SM: got patch to SFTP from PSC, with good transfer rates. Question from Nicola what subnets need to be set up.

Item 5. AHE, ReG etc.

SZ: AHE able to launch MPIg jobs, should launch the steerer by the end of today.

SB: Viz works fine on HemeLB at PSC.

SM: Need to add some code to rotate the viz.

SB: Shouldn't be too hard to make the steering work on the machine with the network translation. Will work on other XT3/XT4s.

Item 6.

PVC: Largely addressed facilities.

SM: On all resources we've successfully steered and visualised.

BT: About to release a new version of MPIg that fixes a bug that really occurs. Have installations on NCSA, SDSC, and ANL. Welcome to use his installation.

Item 7. Demo planning

SM: Patient specific computation theme. Working on both GENIUS and HIV project.

PVC: Large-scale reservations on HPCx, NGS, Lonestar, Bigben. Lots of production work - all in place.

SM: Only two sites with manual reservations: Lonestar and PSC. Got res for all other demos. Want to co-ordinate testing on Monday at the various stands, run quick demo etc.

RH: Try and sort out as early as possible in the day so people in UK can help.

SM: will email when he wants key UK people to be online.

SJ: Come by LSU any time before lunch.

SM: Will make a LONI res and come round then.

RH: Make sure you get in.

BT: Typically it happens at lunch.

PVC: Will send out phone number.

Demo plan:

SM: Generic slide set that will be used with spruce, harc etc. Specific sites, will have people from projects to say something (spruce etc). Will have job running prior to talk to make sure everything is running ok.

SM: PSC talk -any idea how long?

SB: 30 mins is fine - 1 hr set aside. Will maybe say a few words in talk about PDIO.

SDSC - length - 30 mins.

LSU - 30 mins. less is fine.
